Air Conditioning

Every since the dawn of man, humans have been looking for an answer to their heating air conditioning needs. Looking back in history the very first humans addressed these needs by inventing fire, and finding a cool breeze or shade. Now humans did not actually invent fire, as fire existed before humans, but humans were and are the only animals that have successfully created ways to control and harness the energy of fire. The first place early humans used the power of fire was to meet their heating air conditioning needs.

Sitting around a fire, feeling the warmth was the first time humans could control if they were warm. Think about it this fire was the very first heating air conditioning unit. If you were cold, you moved closer, if you were hot, you moved farther away. As humans evolved their use of fire for heating air conditioning became more and more sophisticated. Human learned that if you got really hot, jump in water, and let the cool breeze aide in your heating air conditioning needs. This need to be warm and cool continued as society moved forward through time. In early Rome, homes were constructed so that the breezes would travel throughout the home and keep the inside cool, hot springs were used to warm the floors, and these homes had the first heating air conditioning units. Again man used his most important ability, his brain.

As man and society continued to develop the ways in which we created heating air conditioning developed also. The development of electricity really moved the way man created heating air conditioning to the next step. Finally in the early 1900’s while looking for something to help treat malaria an inventor created a room that was refrigerated, and air conditioning was born. Mix this refrigerated room with heat from a fireplace and the electric heating air conditioning unit was created. Now it was possible for the first time for people to live anywhere, whether an extremely cold environment or an extremely warm environment. Humans were able to control the temperature of the air around them, now there was nothing stopping us from moving anywhere we wanted.

Imagine living in Florida or Brazil without heating air conditioning, it just would not be possible for most of us. How about the desert, living in New Mexico, Arizona, or Egypt was now possible and humans flocked to these warm places, without concern for the heat. Let’s not forget the cold places, the heating air conditioning units made the cold more bearable also. Alaska, Canada, heck even Siberia became hospitable with the creation of heating air conditioning units.

So what can we draw from this history of heating air conditioning? Humans will always create what they need in order to be comfortable, whether it is heating air conditioning or motorized vehicles.
